Education + Events
In 2024, BOMA BC brought members together through a dynamic lineup of 43 events across Victoria, Vancouver, and the Okanagan Valley. From in-person to hybrid formats, each gathering was designed to foster connections, spark new ideas, and keep members informed on the latest trends in commercial real estate. While many events focus on industry insights and networking, others are designed to provide a more relaxed and entertaining setting, allowing members to connect in a fun environment.
BOMA Luncheons
BOMA BC’s Luncheons continue to be a cornerstone for our commercial real estate professionals, providing opportunities to connect, exchange ideas, and gain valuable insights from experts and community leaders.
In 2024, our Luncheons focused on the issues that matter most to our members and the industry—from Indigenous land development and suburban market trends to ESG reporting, low-carbon strategies, hiring trends, and industrial market insights. We also tackled practical topics like indoor air quality, earthquake preparedness, and building code updates, all within the context of a rapidly evolving business landscape.
These gatherings not only keep our members informed but also strengthen the connections that make BOMA a thriving community.

Accross The Province
-
BOMA Victoria Chapter
Founded in 1998 by BOMA BC, the Victoria Chapter was established to advocate for the commercial real estate sector on Vancouver Island.
In 2024, our Victoria Chapter hosted a strong lineup of events, including an overview of the 2024 BC Building Code, a session on earthquake preparedness, the always-popular AGM and Mayor’s Forum, and a practical seminar on indoor air quality essentials. Members also connected at a social mixer and came together to wrap up the year at our festive annual Christmas Luncheon.
We’re looking forward to bringing even more valuable events to the Island in 2025.
-
BOMA Okanagan
In 2024, we returned to Kelowna for three engaging events that reflected the region’s momentum and growing community.
Attendees gained key insights into the province’s fastest-growing market segment at our Industrial Market Insights session, and explored BOMA BC’s new Decarb Accelerator program—designed to support low-carbon strategies in commercial buildings. We also hosted the first-ever Women of BOMA event in the Okanagan, bringing together women in commercial real estate for a lively evening of networking and connection.
We look forward to continuing the conversation in the valley.
Quality Building Team (QBT)
BOMA QBT sessions remained a trusted source of hands-on learning and professional development for building operators and industry professionals in 2024.
Hosted in a hybrid lunch-and-learn format—both in-person and online—QBT sessions continued to offer practical knowledge and expert insights on the evolving needs of commercial buildings. Designed with frontline professionals in mind, these sessions go beyond the basics, delving into real-world strategies, emerging technologies, and regulatory updates that help attendees stay sharp and ahead of the curve.
This year’s lineup addressed timely topics, including Legionella management, new technology in HVAC water treatment, radon detection and mitigation, roofing best practices, and high-performance fenestration. Sessions also explored forward-looking themes like decarbonization strategies, risk and insurance trends, and winter property management essentials.
Through each session, our QBT Sessions reinforced their role as an essential resource for industry education—connecting professionals with practical tools and trusted expertise to keep buildings operating safely, efficiently, and sustainably.

The New Professionals (TNP)
TNP is a community for industry professionals 40ish and under looking to connect, learn, and grow their careers. Open to anyone working in BC’s commercial real estate sector, TNP hosts fun, informal events—like breakfast meetups, baseball games, and social hours—making networking easy and enjoyable.
Whether you're new to the field or building your career, TNP provides a welcoming space to meet peers, gain insights, and expand your professional network.
-
TNP Breakfast Club X 3
The Breakfast Club is a fresh way to fuel up on new connections and share ideas over coffee and conversation. Held regularly at Palate Kitchen in Downtown Vancouver, it’s a relaxed, no-agenda meetup—just good company to start your day right!
In 2024, TNP Breakfast Club raised a toast on three occasions.
-
Nooner at The Nat!
For the second year in a row, TNP members gathered at Nat Bailey Stadium to watch the Vancouver Canadians face off against the Eugene Emeralds. From the first pitch to the final out, it was a grand slam of an afternoon. Plus, every attendee received their own digital baseball card to commemorate the day. Thanks again to Schill Insurance for sponsoring our day at the diamond!
-
Hurry Hard! Curling Day
Members took to the ice at the Royal City Curling Club in New Westminster for a truly "eh"-mazing day of curling fun. From sweeping showdowns to perfect shots, everyone brought their A-game and Canadian spirit to the rink. Full of friendly competition, and plenty of rock-solid moments, this event proved once again that our members are rockstars on and off the rink!
BOMA Mentorship Program
"Sharing knowledge is not about giving people something, but building a bridge for them to walk across." – Peter Senge
Developing the industry through connection, knowledge-sharing, and professional growth is at the heart of BOMA BC. We wrapped up our inaugural Mentorship Program cohort in February 2024, marking the end of a meaningful journey for nearly twenty participants who gained valuable insights and professional confidence.
Facilitated by Kyle Kalloo—now representing Strategic Leader Coaching—the program continued with a new cohort in November 2024, building on the momentum of year one. With a focus on skill-building, personalized guidance, and industry connection, the Mentorship Program remains a key initiative for investing in the next generation of CRE professionals.

Women of BOMA
Women of BOMA continued to grow and thrive in 2024, delivering a trio of engaging and meaningful events that celebrated connection, empowerment, and community.
Day in Kelowna
In May, the Women of BOMA held their first-ever Okanagan event on the terrace of the scenic Hotel Eldorado in Kelowna. Set against a stunning lakeside backdrop, this inclusive afternoon brought together professionals from across the region to connect over canapés, conversation, and a shared commitment to uplifting women in commercial real estate.
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace
June’s Women of BOMA: Empowered featured an inspiring keynote from Trish Mandewo, CEO of Synergy Executive & Boards. Her powerful message on embracing diversity, championing equity, and fostering inclusive spaces sparked thoughtful discussion and encouraged attendees to lead with intention—in both their personal and professional lives.
History & High Tea
To close the year, members stepped into elegance with Women of BOMA – History & High Tea at the iconic Hycroft Manor. This charming afternoon combined tradition with style, offering high tea, lively conversation, and a historical tour of the estate.
As always, Women of BOMA events remained open to all allies, continuing to foster a supportive, dynamic network of professionals committed to making commercial real estate a more inclusive space for everyone.

2024 BOMA Awards Gala
On May 23, we brought together BC’s commercial real estate community for one of our most anticipated events of the year—the BOMA 2024 Awards Gala, proudly presented by SerVantage Services Group.
Celebrating Excellence.
Held at the Fairmont Pacific Rim and hosted by the ever-charismatic Kevin Lim, the evening was a celebration of excellence, innovation, and the incredible people who continue to shape our industry. With a record-breaking number of award entries and nominations, the energy in the room reflected the strength and camaraderie of BC’s CRE community.
The Awards Gala recognizes outstanding achievements across service, performance, sustainability, and leadership. It’s our way of honouring the professionals and organizations who raise the bar year after year—with many of the year’s winners going on to represent BC at the BOMA Canada National Awards during BOMEX Vancouver 2024 in September.

We’d like to give a special congratulations to GWL Realty Advisors, who took home five TOBY Awards, along with Warrington PCI Management, Cadillac Fairview, and QuadReal Property Group—each recognized with multiple wins across categories. Your achievements exemplify the best of our industry, and we’re proud to have such trailblazers as part of the BOMA BC community.
Congratulations to all our 2024 award winners! Your dedication to excellence and industry leadership continues to inspire us and elevate the standards of commercial real estate.

After years of anticipation, we were proud to welcome hundreds of commercial real estate professionals from across the country to experience our city, our skyline, and the strength of BC’s industry.

-

Under the theme Meet. Educate. Celebrate., BOMEX 2024 delivered just that. The three-day event featured insightful sessions, interactive tours, and dynamic networking opportunities.
Keynote speakers included The Hon. Jody Wilson-Raybould and Juno Award-winning musician and AI expert David Usher, whose unique presentation blended conversation, experimentation, and live music.

Spotlighting Our Community
We were especially proud to showcase the incredible people and projects that make BC a national leader in commercial real estate. From hosting engaging building tours to celebrating our members at the National Awards Gala, BOMA BC was honoured to be part of such a vibrant and inspiring conference.
Thank you to everyone who joined us—and see you soon at BOMEX Hailfax 2025!
Our Flagship Events
BOMA BC is proud to host a wide range of events each year—but four stand out as annual favourites. Our Ski Day, Boat Cruise, Golf Classic, and Christmas Luncheon have become cherished traditions, drawing the biggest crowds and the most buzz. These flagship events embody the energy, connection, and community spirit that define BOMA BC.

Hitting The Hills | Ski Trip
In March, over 80 members boarded charters to Whistler for our very first overnight BOMA Ski Trip—elevating this beloved tradition from a single-day outing to a full mountain getaway. Over two days, attendees carved up the slopes, explored the village, and made the most of après-ski networking. From lively après at the Longhorn to a warm, family-style dinner at Caramba, the trip was packed with connection, camaraderie, and classic Whistler charm.
A big thank you to our sponsors for helping make it all possible!
Boogie In The Bay | Boat Cruise
In July, nearly 300 members hit the water for our annual BOMA Boogie Boat Cruise, presented by Grime Fighters Service Group. This year’s disco-themed voyage brought big energy to Vancouver’s harbour, with dancing, costumes, and unforgettable views.
From signature cocktails to groovy costume and dance contests, this floating party had all the right moves!

Driving Spirit | Golf Classic
Our sold-out tournament brought together seasoned golfers and newcomers for a memorable day on the fairways at Northview Golf and Country Club. With 288 participants, the event blended friendly competition, camaraderie, and plenty of laughs.
After a long day on the fairways, the day wrapped with dinner, an exciting awards ceremony and a 50/50 draw.
Due to the overwhelming popularity of this event, we're excited to announce that BOMA will be hosting a second golf tournament in 2025 (The BOMA Fall Tee-Off)—stay tuned for more details coming soon!

A “Swift” Recap of Our Past | Christmas Luncheon
Closing out the year in December, over 900 members gathered at the Hotel Vancouver for the highly anticipated BOMA Eras Christmas Luncheon! This festive celebration honoured BOMA’s remarkable legacy, which dates back to 1911 while embracing the retro flair of the '80s and '90s—perfectly timed with Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, which was taking place in Vancouver that same evening.
Bringing holiday cheer, and a true sense of community, the luncheon was the perfect way to reflect on the growth, resilience, and milestones that have shaped our industry over the past century.
